Biography
Joanna P. Kluzowska is an associate attorney with Kathleen T. Zellner & Associates, where her practice focuses on criminal appeals and post-conviction proceedings, wrongful conviction litigation, and federal civil rights cases.
Ms. Kluzowska joined the firm as a law clerk in 2018 while attending DePaul University College of Law and became an attorney with the firm following her admission to the Illinois Bar in 2021.
Her criminal practice includes direct appeals and post-conviction proceedings involving claims of actual innocence, newly discovered evidence, ineffective assistance of counsel, and constitutional violations. Her civil practice includes federal civil rights litigation arising from wrongful convictions and other government misconduct.
Ms. Kluzowska is admitted to practice in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She has also worked on federal civil rights matters in other jurisdictions.
Ms. Kluzowska graduated from DePaul University College of Law. During law school, she served on the DePaul Law Review and participated in DePaul's Criminal Appeals Clinic.
Before attending law school, she earned a B.S. in Political Science and a B.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University Chicago.
Ms. Kluzowska was born in Poland and is fluent in Polish.Ms. Kluzowska graduated from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.
